Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines what is and isn't allowed when using CrossTrack. By using our service, you agree to follow these guidelines. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Consent and Transparency

Do not use CrossTrack to track or identify users without their knowledge or consent. You are responsible for informing your end users about your data practices and obtaining any consent required by applicable privacy laws.

2. No Raw PII

Do not send actual personally identifiable information to CrossTrack as traits or identifiers. This includes:

• Email addresses
• Full names
• Phone numbers
• Physical addresses
• Government-issued IDs

CrossTrack is designed to work with hashed identifiers. Always hash PII on your end before sending it to our API. This protects your users and keeps both of us compliant.

3. No Reverse Engineering

Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decrypt, or de-anonymize hashed identifiers processed by CrossTrack. The hashing exists to protect end-user privacy — circumventing it defeats the purpose.

4. Lawful Use Only

Do not use CrossTrack for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations. This includes but is not limited to:

• Surveillance without legal authority
• Discrimination based on protected characteristics
• Fraud, harassment, or any other illegal activity

5. Respect Service Limits

Do not attempt to abuse, circumvent, or bypass rate limits, usage quotas, or other service restrictions. This includes:

• Creating multiple free-tier accounts to avoid usage limits
• Flooding the API with excessive requests beyond your plan's rate limits
• Attempting to access resources or data outside your account

6. Enforcement

If we determine that your use of CrossTrack violates this policy, we may take action including:

• Issuing a warning and requesting that you correct the behavior
• Temporarily suspending your account
• Permanently terminating your account

We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking action, except in cases where immediate action is necessary to protect our service or other users.
